I found that placing the eggs in a steamer, bringing the water to a boil while covered, put heat on med/low, keep covered, cooking for twelve to fifteen minutes, putting in cold water. The shells come right off. If they cook too long, you get the green around the yoke.

I ALWAYS do that also! I have tried all of these other ideas that are suppose to be the best, but a little salt, oil, bring to a boil, turn off heat, cover, let sit for 20 min.crack, run cold water over them, the shells ALWAYS slip right off!! No other way works as good ☺️

Always thought using cold water to peel eggs worked great til I tried warm water and they peeled without any problems

I always put in a pinch of salt & a tiny bit of vegetable oil. Cook as directed, then crack, put in cold ice water & the shell slips right off 😁

I also heard that older eggs peeled better than fresh!

Exact opposite! The fresher the egg the easier they peel. Catch hold of the membrane and the shell slips right off!

I have always done eggs this way, except I don’t bother with the vinegar and salt. Yes, less-fresh eggs peel much easier, for some reason. Also, peel them under running cold water. Easy peasy.

I always thought it depended on the freshness of the eggs if they peeled nicely, your thoughts?
