Carpet Shampoo Solution

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! If your carpets need a good cleaning or deodorizing this solution works extremely well!

Carpet Shampoo Solution

I have had many of you ask me for a cheap Homemade Carpet Cleaner Solution that won’t break the bank like the ones you buy from the store, so Voila, here it is! Pour contents into shampooer tank and mix with hot water to fill tank completely. This will not only clean your carpets, it will also deodorize. It will smell slightly of vinegar until the carpet is dry, then will smell like Febreze.

Be sure to test spot with the solution just to be safe, however this should be safe for ALL carpets.

*Note: The amounts in this recipe are for a large professional carpet cleaner. For a small home carpet cleaner, cut the amounts down to 1/4 cup of each.

You can make your own home made Febreze solution to use in this carpet cleaner. I have one posted here on my blog. Here is the LINK!

I have a shop vac. Do you think I could mix this in a spray bottle and then use my shop vac to bacuum the solution? If so, how much hot water should be mixed with the solution and how long do I let it sit?

can you use this in a shampooer that has separate soap and water dispensers or does it have to be mixed with the water to start?

You can put dry baking soda on the spot and leave it there a day or so then vaccuum it. It might take another try to get it all but it really works!! Then after all this you still will want to clean the carpets!! I make my own always… Basicilly the same way!!

The problem is not the pee on the carpet, but the pee soaked into the foam beneath the carpet. I have a cat that does that when the kids forget to clean the litter box. Sop up as much pee as you can with paper towels then use Ia big bottle of white or apple cider vinegar and soak the area. Leave to soak over night. the next day use the carpet cleaner and clean first using water. then use the carpet shampoo.

I will try this especially in heavy traveled areas and see how well it works. If it works there it will work all over.

I’m wondering if this work for cleaning upholstery like my recliner for instance. It’s cinnamon brown color and is suede like fabric

I would try it on a small spot to start on the back of the recliner. Let it dry to see if it effected the color at all.
